Privacy Snapshot: NoteBoard is an offline note-taking and whiteboard application. All your notes, whiteboards, drawings, attachments, and settings are stored strictly on your local device. We do not operate cloud servers, collect personal metrics, or store user content on external systems.

1. Overview & Core Architecture

This Privacy Policy governs the use of NoteBoard (Package Name: noteboard.app), developed by Madhukar&Son's ("we", "us", or "our").

We believe that your personal notes, ideas, drawings, and sketches belong exclusively to you. NoteBoard has been built from the ground up as a privacy-focused, offline-first application. You are not required to create an account, log in, or disclose any personal details (such as name, email address, or phone number) to use NoteBoard.

2. Local Data Storage & User Content

All data created within NoteBoard—including text notes, tags, folder structures, whiteboard canvas elements, freehand drawings, image attachments, and application preferences—is stored locally in an encrypted or sandboxed Room SQLite database and internal application storage on your Android device.

  • No Server Sync: We do not operate remote servers or cloud database infrastructure to automatically backup or copy your personal content.
  • Exported Content: When you choose to export notes or whiteboards as PDF, PNG, or Markdown files, or generate local backup archives, those files remain on your local storage in the destination folder specified by you.
  • Data Transmission: No personal note text, drawing vector path, or image content is ever transmitted across the network by NoteBoard.

3. Device Permissions

To provide core offline functionality, NoteBoard may request specific runtime permissions on your Android device:

  • Storage / Media Access: Required on Android versions prior to Scoped Storage to allow importing images onto the whiteboard canvas or saving exported notes and PDF files to your external device storage.
  • Network Access: Declared in the application manifest for standard Android network framework readiness. NoteBoard itself does not send any user content over the network.

4. Third-Party Services & Future Advertising

In current releases, NoteBoard operates completely offline without third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Please note that future versions or updates of NoteBoard may integrate third-party advertising SDKs, such as Google AdMob, to support ongoing app maintenance and updates. If integrated in future releases, Google AdMob may collect and process non-personally identifiable advertising parameters (such as Advertising ID, device model, coarse geographic region, and interaction metrics) in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Children's Privacy

NoteBoard does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 in certain jurisdictions). Because NoteBoard does not collect or transmit personal data from any user, it is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

6. Your Rights & Data Control

Since all data resides exclusively on your device, you maintain 100% control over your information at all times:

  • Access & Editing: You can view, edit, or search your content directly within NoteBoard at any time.
  • Deletion: You can permanently delete individual notes, whiteboards, or folders inside the app. Clearing app data or uninstalling NoteBoard from your Android settings will immediately erase all local database contents from your device.
  • Data Portability: You can export your data anytime via built-in backup and export tools.

7. Data Security

Your content is protected by standard Android operating system application sandboxing, which prevents other non-root applications from accessing NoteBoard's internal storage directory. We encourage users to maintain security on their mobile devices (e.g., using device passcodes, biometrics, and keeping Android OS updated).

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements, new features, or statutory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date". We recommend reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically.
